Official Narrative

The 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, also known as the September 11 attacks or simply 9/11, were a series of coordinated terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001, in the United States. The attacks targeted several locations, but the most significant and devastating ones occurred at the World Trade Center complex in New York City.

The World Trade Center (WTC) was a large commercial complex consisting of seven buildings in Lower Manhattan. The most iconic structures were the Twin Towers, officially known as One World Trade Center (WTC 1) and Two World Trade Center (WTC 2). These towers stood at 1,368 and 1,362 feet tall, respectively, making them the tallest buildings in the world at the time.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 hijackers affiliated with the Islamist extremist group al-Qaeda took control of four commercial airliners. Two of these planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, were deliberately crashed into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center complex, causing catastrophic damage. The impacts and resulting fires weakened the structures, leading to the collapse of both towers within hours. The North Tower fell at 10:28 a.m., and the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. These collapses caused immense loss of life and property.

The attacks on the World Trade Center resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people, including office workers, emergency responders, and passengers on the hijacked planes. The impact extended beyond the immediate tragedy, as it deeply affected the nation and the world, leading to significant changes in national security policies, military interventions, and global political dynamics.

The 9/11 attacks were a turning point in modern history, leading to a global war on terrorism and an increased focus on counterterrorism efforts. They also prompted extensive changes in aviation security, intelligence gathering, and law enforcement practices to prevent future attacks. The World Trade Center site became a symbol of resilience and remembrance, and a new complex called the World Trade Center Memorial and Museum was built to honor the victims.

The 9/11 World Trade Centre attacks are widely regarded as one of the most significant and tragic events of the 21st century, profoundly impacting not only the United States but the entire world.
